If you have not been a successful bidder but would still like to make a donation, simply follow the same prompts given above and contribute any size donation you would like to make. Every dollar counts!

I would like to have all payments processed with 3-4 working days (by Wed 27th April), so that postage of works can be arranged and finalised promptly. Many thanks again and please do not hesitate in contacting me if you have any further queries.

Karla Way - GOOD HUNTER PENDANT

You are bidding on a piece that is sure to keep the bad beasts away. Melbourne jeweller Karla way, renowned for her dark, mysterious and archeologically ambiguous work has donated an excepetional piece. Based on work currently being shown at Metalab Gallery in a joint show with Natalia Milosz-Piekarksa, titled, Bad Beasts Do Not Harm Me, Karla has created a special cluster pendant just for this fundraiser. How special is that!

Title: Good Hunter Pendant
Dimensions: Pendant cluster 15.5cm x 14cm. Hanging length (although adjustable) 62cm
Materials: Polyurethane resin, nylon cord

Employing both traditional and modern materials, both naturally occurring and man made, Karla makes jewellery, art object and vessels. She is interested in the transformative ability of materials and draws inspiration from the extensive pre/history of jewellery, hollowware and personal object. Representing elements of the natural world and reflecting our relationship with it, her pieces examine the intersection of nature and material culture.

Karla’s recent work for an exhibition titled Bad Beasts Do Not Harm Me (with Natalia Milosz-Piekarska) references ancient forms that have universally been used for protection and deflecting bad luck. Way is exploring the possibility of objects to transcend their physical and utilitarian purposes, (such as becoming powerful emotional and psychological tools) through the investigation of the transformative capabilities of materials.
